Lake Huron Foundation is pleased to host the 39th Annual People’s Clinic Golf Outing, formerly known as the Mahmoud M. Chafty Memorial Golf Outing. You’re invited to grab your clubs and head out for a fun-filled day of golf while helping support the People’s Clinic for Better Health.
This year’s event will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at Port Huron Golf Club. An afternoon flight will be offered in this modified 18-hole golf scramble for male, female and mixed foursomes. The event begins with registration and lunch at 11:30 a.m. with 1:00pm shotgun start. Following the fun-filled day of golf, awards, dinner and an auction will take place.
In its 39th year, the People’s Clinic Golf Outing continues to provide critical awareness and support for the People’s Clinic. Created to provide medical care for the poor and uninsured of our community, the clinic has grown to a new location at St. Clair County Community Mental Health and provides services to those who are uninsured and those with Medicaid. In 2018, more than 2,200 primary care visits were provided for St. Clair County residents. Fundraisers and grant funding from organizations such as the United Way of St. Clair County and Blue Cross Blue Shield support the operational expenses, medical supplies and pharmacy needs of the clinic. Without this support and fundraising events like the People’s Clinic Golf Outing, many in the community would go without the necessary medical care to remain healthy.
